Behavior Driven Development
BDD is a style of specification that allows us to specify a system through the language and design that is envisioned through customers, testers, product owners, programmers and everybody on the team. It helps bridge gaps between many agile process methodologies and developer practices like TDD by combining them with DDD. With BDD, we achieve a greater understanding of the system to be designed, and gain a more accurately designed system. We will look at doing TDD under the context of BDD, learn how to drive out better tests, and to specify our system using ubiquitious language in our code.
About Raymond Lewallen
Spending the majority of his first 10 years of his career in the public sector, Raymond has designed and built several high profile enterprise level applications for all levels of the government. Raymond now works for MTM Recognition with 15 years of experience in software development in his toolbelt. Raymond does everything from agile mentoring to product architecture to team management to outright coding. Raymond is a Microsoft MVP C# and also president of the Oklahoma Agile Developers Group. Raymond spends a lot of his time learning and teaching such things as lean methodologies, Behavior Driven Design, Domain Driven Design, Design Patterns and Extreme Programming practices and principles, to name a few. Raymond is a frequent user group and conference speaker, including VS Live and TechEd, and community and conference organizer and is driven by continuous improvement in all aspects of his life and those around him.
